Mr. William Ernest Busby, age 90, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, surrounded by his family at his home in Brinson, Georgia. Services for Mr. Busby were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 5, at Oak Grove Church of Christ, Miller County, Georgia. The Rev. Ron Kirkland officiated. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery. Mr. Busby’s grandsons served as pallbearers. The family received friends one hour before the service, beginning at 1:00.
Ernest Busby, a beloved patriarch and a pillar of strength, passed away peacefully on October 2nd, 2023, at the age of 90. He leaves behind a legacy of unwavering dedication, both to his country and his family. A proud veteran who served his country with honor, Ernest exemplified the values of duty and sacrifice throughout his life, instilling these principles in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
As an entrepreneur, Ernest was a visionary who built a successful business from the ground up, demonstrating his remarkable work ethic and determination. His entrepreneurial spirit inspired those around him to pursue their dreams and never give up, a lesson he passed down through generations.
Beyond his professional achievements, he was known for his heart of gold. He had an innate ability to touch the lives of others with his kindness and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed his path. His love for gardening was one of his greatest joys, and he cherished the time spent nurturing his garden and imparting his wisdom to his family. Mr. Busby is survived by his children, Donna Ellis of Bainbridge, Georgia, Dolan Busby (Paula) of Brinson, Debbie Faircloth of Bainbridge, Denee Cook of Bainbridge, and Darlene Freeman (Neil) of Brinson; brother Daniel Busby of Albany, Georgia; grandchildren, Jennifer Brock (Alton) of Bainbridge, Jeremy Faircloth (Ashley) of Whigham, Georgia, William Dolan Busby (Jessica) of Woodstock, Georgia, William Casey Faircloth (Heidi) of Orlando, Florida, Paige Harrell of Bainbridge, Cole Busby of Brinson, Matthew Heard of Valdosta, Georgia, Blake Cook (Sarah) of Bainbridge and Emma Grace Freeman of Brinson; great grandchildren, Ashlyn and Andrew Brock, Chloe, Toby, Jacob, Caroline, and Catie Faircloth, Ellie, Emily and Wyatt Cook, Greyson Busby, and Brody Harrell; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Sapp Busby, parents, W. J. “Buck” and Lucille Busby, seven siblings, and daughter Denise Busby.
