Jimmie Phillips, Jr. was born December 9, 1972, in Palatka, FL, the son of Jimmy Sr. and Mary Lee Pridgen Phillips. He married the love of his life, Christy Meredith, in 2003, and they made their home in the Black Jack community. Jimmie worked as an assistant operator for GA Pacific in Cedar Springs and was Baptist by faith.
Family and his papermill friends (who were like family) were very important to Jimmie. He took every opportunity to plug into their lives and truly loved them unconditionally, the outlaws and the in-laws. Jimmie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trips to Townsend, TN and Cade’s Cove. He often jumped on his motorcycle simply to ride. Jimmie described his best moments as those on his bike when his mind was focused on the sights and sounds of the grandeur of God’s creation.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Christy Meredith Phillips; his children, Brandon Wayne Phillips of Homer, GA and Rylie Green Phillips of Bainbridge; his parents, Jimmy Phillips, Sr. (Linda) of Whigham and Mary Pridgen of Smithville, NC; his brother, Wayne Phillips (Daisy) of Four Oaks, NC; and his beloved pets, Trudy, Sheva, Sadie, Gunner, Breeanne, and Leo.
Bryant Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Florida Street, is assisting the family with arrangements. (229-246-3321)
