A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.bryantfuneralga.com. Memorial donations may be made to Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society, 1250 Cox Avenue, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
Ivey Jean Floyd was born December 10, 1958, in Thomasville, GA, the daughter of J.W. “Shorty” and Betty Bailey Floyd. Ivey married the love of her life, Bob Stott, in 1997. They made their home in Bainbridge. Ivey was Baptist by faith.
To say Ivey had a sense of humor is quite an understatement. She was quick witted and often had others in stitches while she maintained perfect composure. She was sharp and took no prisoners on the regular. Ivey spent years as photographer. Capturing the personalities, daily antics, and special occasions of young people, especially the kids she knew and loved, satisfied her need for their stories to be documented and shared. Ivey was generous and adventuresome. Her favorite travels involved trips to Africa. She had a fondness for all animals, though her dogs don’t really know they are animals. Grandchildren set Ivey on a new path giving her the most precious title, “Granny”, and permission to love without limits.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Bob Stott; her children, Sarah Dollar (Jarod) of Bainbridge and Robert “Robby” Strickland (Lorna) of Donalsonville; her grandchildren, Taylor, Peyton, Brylan, Tristan, Tanna, Cymon, and Jax; her siblings, Debra Strickland (Ringo), Lisa Musgrove, Mike Floyd, Tim Floyd (Cathy); and a host of extended family. In addition to her parents, Ivey was preceded in death by her siblings, Gary Floyd, Ronnie Floyd, and Cheryl Floyd Dicks.
Bryant Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Florida Street, is assisting the family with arrangements. (229-246-3321)
