Bainbridge’s two oldest funeral homes have now become one: Cox-Ivey Funeral Home.
Cox Funeral Home and co-owners/co-managers, Andy and Christy Cadwell, have acquired Ivey Funeral Home from Rollings Funeral Services, now making the two historic businesses one locally owned-family business.
As Bainbridge natives and having been born and raised in Decatur County, the Cadwells will continue to serve the community and surrounding counties as Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. Any arrangements and pre-need accounts originally made with both Cox and Ivey Funeral Homes, will continue to be honored by the Cadwells and Cox-Ivey Funeral Home.
Mr. Cadwell states, “Christy and I are honored to serve our hometown as well as the entire community as we continue the longstanding commitments set forth by our family at Cox Funeral Home as well as and the Ivey family and Ivey Funeral Home.” Cadwell continues, “We are here to assist all families in their time of need and invite all to visit us at our new location at 502 South Scott Street in Bainbridge.”
Former owner, Dick Ivey, states, “Our family is pleased that the Ivey tradition and heritage will continue with the highest degree of integrity and service by the Cadwells and their staff.”
Along with the Andy and Christy Cadwell, others who serve on the staff of the newly formed Cox-Ivey Funeral Home include Deryl Ouzts, Funeral Apprentice; Lauren Turner, Director of Social Media and Funeral Assistant and Virginia Smith, Receptionist.
With 171 years of combined service, Cox-Ivey Funeral Home is also the only funeral home in Decatur County with a Crematory on site, therefore your loved ones never leave the Cadwell’s care. Any questions may be directed to the staff at Cox-Ivey Funeral Home by visiting their location at 502 South Scott Street (Formerly Ivey Funeral Home) or by calling 229-246-3232 or 229-246-4411.
