Joel Alan Sapp was born March 16, 1954, in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Guy & Jeanette Taylor Sapp. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1973. Buddy believed in hard work. He retired twice as a maintenance director, from Amoco Fabrics and from Decatur County Sherrif’s Office. Buddy was a member of West Street Baptist Church.
You can only shake your head and smile when you think of how stubborn Buddy was. He could build anything and loved seeing a job completed. The catch was it had to be his way on his timeline. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and thought there was nothing better than a red can Coca~Cola.
Survivors include his fiancé and caretaker, Barbara Starling; his children, Jason Sapp of Bainbridge and Jennifer Granade (Curt) of Leesburg, GA, and his five grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his siblings, Steve Sapp and Mary Sapp Godby.
Bryant Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Florida Street, is assisting the family with arrangements. (229-246-3321)
