Mr. Roy W. Howard, age 78, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024.  Services for Mr. Howard will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home.  The Rev. Ronald (Bubba) Black, Jr. will officiate.   The interment will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery.  Lee Howard, Brandon Howard, Chris Bowen, Robert Bradley, Steven Bradley, and Jonathan Tomberlin will serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour before the service, beginning at 1:00.    

Roy was born February 9, 1946, in Bainbridge, Georgia to Paul Howard and Sarah Earnest Howard.  He was a truck driver.  He loved his job and drove for 40 years.  He married Anne Marcene Chandler Howard.  They were together for over 49 years before her death in March of 2015.  Roy enjoyed fishing and camping.  He loved spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   He will be missed by the family he loved so very much.

Roy Howard is survived by his children, Michael Howard, Roy W. Howard, Jr., Ron Howard (Jennifer) all of Bainbridge, and Jennifer O’Hearn (Patrick) of Donalsonville, Georgia; brother, Bobby Howard (Frankie) of Bainbridge; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and best friend, Deborah Bradley of Colquitt, Georgia.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Shirley Harrell, and brother, Ricky Howard.
