Alvin Herman August Hecht, III, of LaGrange, GA, passed away on March 14, 2024. He was born in Havana, FL, on December 18, 1944, to the late Alvin Herman August Hecht, Jr. and Lou J. Hecht, of Attapulgus, GA. In addition to his parents, Al is preceded in death by his son, Eric Franklin Hecht, his parents named above, his maternal grandparents Martin and Charity J Jensen of Attapulgus, GA, and his paternal grandparents,  Alvin Sr. and Hulda B Hecht of Coldwater, KS. Before his retirement , he was the President of Confederate Packaging in Macon, GA.  Al attended Auburn University where he received his BS degree in Industrial Engineering. He remained a devoted  WAREAGLE throughout life. Survivors include his children, Melinda Hecht West (Shane), Patrick Hecht (Hayley), and Trey Hecht (Jencie); sister Linda Conger (Bob); grandchildren Payton Shortt, Madeline Hecht, Amelia Hecht, Olivia Hecht, Grady Hecht; and extended family and friends. 

The family will have a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 4-6pm at the Brickyard Golf Club located at 6000 Wesleyan Dr. in Macon, GA. All friends and family are invited. Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand, 706-884-5626.
