A. Mark Zorn, 84, of Bainbridge, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lynn Massey and Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. A private interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Neal Zorn, Thomas Patrick, Jimmy Dickson, Mike Jackson, Bob Rich, Jim Beck, Benny Hayes, and Billy Brock serving as active pallbearers. The Men’s Class at Morningside Baptist Church and the Men’s Supper Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Alec Mark Zorn was born September 27, 1939, in Donalsonville, GA, the son of H.D. & Mary Ruth Ward Zorn. He was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School, Class of 1957. He attended Chipola Junior College and earned an associate degree from South Georgia Junior College. Mark retired from Regions Bank as Vice President in 2004. He was a charter member of Morningside Baptist Church.
During his heyday, Mark was active in the Bainbridge Lions Club, the Jaycee’s, and the Decatur County Planning Commission. He had a welcoming smile and a hearty handshake that instantly let you know he truly cared about you. Mark loved people of all ages & stages and especially enjoyed watching youngsters he mentored become productive in adulthood. Progress was always on his mind for his beloved hometown, and he spent years building community relationships and partnerships that have served Decatur County well. When it was time to call it a day from the duties in town, you could find Mark casting a line at his favorite fishing spot or woodworking in his shop.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Judy W. Zorn; his children, Michelle & Billy Lane and Marla Zorn; his grandchildren, Lance & Kristen, Lawson, and Brendan; and his great-grandson, Cal. In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Ann Barfield Zorn.
