The Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association held its All-State Tournament last week. Golfers were hand-picked from around the state for the tournament’s two teams, North and South, with the South winning 9-7.
One Bearcat golfer was selected to play on the South team, Class of 2024 graduate Sam Surratt. Surratt won three matches, tying another alongside his teammate.
Surratt has been on the Bearcat Golf team since his sophomore year. BHS Golf Coach Rex Wade praised Surratt’s performance, saying, “I’m just super proud of him for committing to being a better golfer.”
Surratt will be attending ABAC this year, where he will continue with the golf team. “I’m excited that he’s continuing his career in golf,” Wade said.
“We played pretty good,” Surratt said of the All-State Tournament. “We left it all on the course.”
