The Bainbridge Decatur County Recreation Authority’s adult rec soccer team faced off again last week, with Sarmientos beating Purple Rain 9-6, and Barrios beating the Sunday League, 7-3.
The soccer season will soon reach its end, with this Tuesday’s game being the last before the play-offs begin on Thursday.
With the adult rec soccer season soon to end, things are already looking up for the youth travel teams, which the Rec Authority held evaluations for last week. According to Senior Program Supervisor Carlos Becerra, this year’s evaluations saw record turnout.
“This year we had more players show up for our player evaluations/tryouts than we had in the past,” he said. He elaborated, saying, “This year we are hoping to have four teams, including a U10 girls travel team.”
“We have a lot of talented players here in Bainbridge looking to grow and play at the next level and I am happy we are able to provide that for them,” Becerra concluded.
Another rec sport recently began its season, rec adult basketball, which recently began this past Sunday, with games every Wednesday and Sunday nights.
