The Bainbridge Rec Soccer season is coming to a close, with the championship match scheduled for this Tuesday evening. Barrios & Sons CD triumphed over Sunday League in the semifinals to advance, while Sarmiento’s Service & Maintenance beat Purple Rain, 5-3. Sarmiento’s will face off against Barrios at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening.
With adult rec soccer coming to an end, the Rec Authority is preparing for the youth travel team’s season, beginning with its summer camp, held in affiliation with the Toluca Atlanta Soccer Academy. The camp will go from July 22 to July 26, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This is the last week to register for the camp’s second week. The camp will also receive a special guest: Diego de la Torre, former Atlanta United Assistant Coach and 2009 Liga MX champion with Toluca FC.
“I would like to thank Toluca Atlanta Soccer Academy and their director, Fernando Tlacuatl, for always finding ways to keep our summer soccer camps exciting,” said Senior Program Supervisor Carlos Becerra.
Travel practice will begin right after camp concludes.
“We are all excited to start this new season,” Becerra continued. “We had many talented players come to our evaluations. We are hoping to have three boys’ teams: U9, U11, and U13, as well as one U9 girls’ team.”
