The Bainbridge Decatur County Development Authority met for their monthly meeting last Thursday. Following the approval of the financials and minutes, the Authority received a Chamber of Commerce update from Chamber President Karen Tobin. Tobin informed the Development Authority of the upcoming youth leadership programs, as well as the upcoming Chamber Connect luncheon. She also spoke on job fairs that the Chamber helped put on for Rural King, A-1, and Steward Machine Company.
Following the Chamber update, the Development Authority went into executive session. The Authority resumed regular session without taking any action on what was discussed in the session.
Following this, Executive Director Rick McCaskill gave his report, discussing progress being made on the Anovion project, as well as a project codenamed “Project Neptune”. McCaskill also mentioned a community advisory panel meeting involving BASF, which McCaskill congratulated for their community engagement. The recent Element Hotel groundbreaking was mentioned. A new business McCaskill mentioned was a porcelain operation currently looking for a building.
Following this report, the meeting was adjourned.
