Funeral services for Benjamin “Benny” Franklin Mobley, 91, of Whigham, GA, are at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 22, 2024, at Union Springs Baptist Church, Whigham, GA.  Rev. Michael Williams and Rev. James Knight will officiate.  Interment will be in Union Springs Cemetery.  Mr. Mobley passed away at Camellia Gardens of Life Care, Thomasville, GA, on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Active pallbearers will be Ben Hattaway, Jack Hattaway, Richard Irvin, John Massey, Garrett Massey, Aaron Irvin and Hayden Hattaway.

Mr. Mobley was born on November 3, 1932, in Whigham, GA, to the late Clarence Albert Mobley and Nettie Sue Butler Mobley.  On August 7. 1955, he married Martha Waters Mobley, and she preceded him in death on February 20, 2014.  He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, was a master electrician and was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church.  He was also a member of the Whigham Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his daughters, Denise Hattaway (Cliff) of Bluffton, GA, Pamela Chambers (Mike) of Whigham, GA and Felicia Stravato of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Ben Hattaway (Jenni) and Ashley Hattaway, both of Bluffton, GA, Jack Hattaway (MacKenzie) of Columbus, GA and Richard Irvin (Heather) of Thomasville, GA, John Massey of Ruston, LA, Garrett Massey of Eastman, GA; great-grandchildren, Hayden Hattaway, Aaron Irvin, Addison Irvin, Scarlet Howard, Lily Howard and Jade Hattaway; brother, Curtis Mobley (Jackie) of Greenville, SC; sister, Shirley Whitley of Eastman, GA; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sisters, Dorothy Louise Mobley, Annie Elizabeth “Beth” Abney; brother, Joseph “Joe” Albert Mobley; sister-in-law, Virginia L. Mobley; brothers-in-law, Charles Whitley and George Abney.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Mobley’s memory to: Union Springs Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, c/o Rhonda Poppell, 3526 Springhill Road, Whigham, GA  39897 or to the Kingdom Work Fund at Bluffton Baptist Church, PO Box 36, Bluffton, GA 39824.

The family will receive friends at Union Springs Baptist Church on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
