Lucile was born December 30, 1928 in Macon, Georgia to Charles Sockwell and Annie Mae Abel Sockwell. Lucile had 2 sisters that preceded her in death. Lucile loved to laugh and loved to make everyone around her happy. No matter the task she could make it fun. She loved to dance and regularly went square dancing in her younger years. She loved to fish and loved it even more when she caught the big one. Lucile was quick witted and always had a funny comeback. Before her eyesight diminished, she was never without some form of needlework whether cross stitching masterpieces, knitting afghans or hand sewing doll clothes for granddaughters. She loved all kinds of flowers, filled her yard with them and, of course, in her fun-loving way, she also filled her yard and gazebo with animal statues of all sizes including deer and a life size bear. Lucile had a very generous heart and gave of her time and talents to her friends and church family. Mrs. Boyd was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She was a dedicated wife to Robert and liked to say that she depended on him for seeing and he depended on her for hearing, so they made the perfect pair. She was Lucile, Mama, and Granny and a child of God. She will be missed.
