Mr. Carl Christopher Bennett, age 64, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, surrounded by his family in Bainbridge, Georgia. The family will hold a Celebration of Life.

Carl was born August 16, 1959, in Bainbridge, Georgia to Tom Bruce Bennett and Mary Lucy Spikes Bennett.  His parents have preceded him in death.  He was raised in Attapulgus, Georgia, the baby of his family.  He leaves behind his wife, Debra Lynn Aurand Bennett.  Carl was a semi-truck and heavy equipment operator.  He was good at his job and enjoyed working.  Carl loved to hunt and fish and loved to sit around a fire pit or campfire in the evening.  He looked for the humor in every situation.  Carl was a caring man who loved his children and family and was crazy about his 5 dogs and his cat.  When he said goodbye he always added, “Just remember, I love you”, and he meant that.  He was a simple man who led a simple life.  Carl will be missed.

Carl Bennett is survived by his wife, Debra “Debbie” Lynn Bennett of Bainbridge; children, Christy Lynn Calhoun and Melissa Lynn Bennett of Statesboro, Georgia; step-children, Jolene Pino (Joseph) of McDonough, Georgia and Christen Feliz (Rohney) of Bainbridge; siblings, Peggy Spooner (Ronnie) of Bainbridge and Bruce Bennett (Pam) of Attapulgus; mother-in-law, Lois Aurand of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Austin Harrell, Logan Stewart, Makayla Calhoun, Makynna Calhoun, Malaney Calhoun, and Samuel Hays; great-grandchildren, Sutton Harrell and Porter Harrell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
