The City of Bainbridge’s Fiber department has announced they are starting to expand their internet fiber services, working with service companies to attach fiber wires to the power lines. A coverage map is coming early next week to show the zones in the order they are being built out at bainbridgefiber.com. Crystal Hines, the city’s Community Affairs Director said,
“The goal of the expansion is to roll out one to two new Fiber Service Areas (FSA) every month.”
David Hower, the Fiber Director, stated, “It takes 36 FSA’s to incorporate the entire city, because it varies on the design layout and house population. But the Fiber project should be complete in 2025.”
Bainbridge Fiber allows residents to register as beta customers to evaluate their internet services before it launches. All of the beta customers were converted to Bainbridge Fiber customers. The city has received positive feedback from their customer trials, with one beta customer stating in a testimonial, “As a resident who recently was selected as one of the city’s beta customers to the new fiber service, I couldn’t be happier with the experience! From start to finish, the customer service was exceptional–staff was punctual, friendly, and incredibly efficient. The installation process was smooth and hassle-free, and the speed of the fiber optic network is truly lightening-fast. I’m thrilled with the performance and reliability of the service. It’s been a game-changer for my home internet needs!”
