Dr. William Reece (Bill) Conger, 77, of Gulf Shores, AL, passed away at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL on Friday, August, 9. A private family service in Bainbridge, GA will be scheduled at a later time. Bill was born in Atlanta, GA and moved to.Columbus, GA in 1950. He attended Wynnton Elementary and Columbus High School where he excelled in football. He then studied at Emory University and graduated from University of Georgia (Masters Degree in Microbiology). After Medical School at Meharry (Nashville, TN), Bill did his residency at Washington University and then was a Psychiatrist in Mobile, AL until his retirement. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Dr. Abraham B. Conger and Ellen G. Conger; also a beloved uncle Jasper D. Gray. He is survived by his daughter Hannah Conger (Gulf Shores, AL) and a brother John Gray Conger (Columbus, GA), a niece Ann G. Conger (Columbus, GA) and many cousins in Bainbridge, GA. Upon retirement Bill enjoyed his dogs hunting, boating, and fishing with a membership in the Fairhope Yacht Club. He was an avid reader and had a green thumb. While growing his plants, he was also growing in his Christian faith and his favorite verse was Hebrews 11:1. He was a lively soul and full of ideas and humor. He will be greatly missed.
