The Memorial Hospital held a monthly meeting last Tuesday. In addition, the Memorial Hospital & Manor congratulated Logan Vann, an RN of 6 years, for winning the Daisy Award for Q2 2024 in the Labor & Delivery department last Tuesday. Vann is passionate about caring for moms and their families throughout labor and postpartum, saying, “I really enjoy educating our patients and helping them have the best experience possible.”

One of Vann’s patients shares the same sentiment, “Logan was my nurse the night I went to be induced. This was my first pregnancy, so I had a lot of questions. She stayed and talked with me extensively to answer all of my questions and concerns. She listened to me diligently when I expressed I didn’t want pitocin unless it was absolutely necessary. She took my birth plan into account and respected it and made sure I was comfortable with every step along the way.” David Paugh, Chief Financial Officer, discussed the Georgia HEART update as $1.7 million dollars were received for pledges, 56 million credits were applied with 18 million remaining statewide as of 2024. On July 1, the hospital ended their revenue cycle process with Xtend and transferred over to ABS, a local revenue cycle company, who the hospital board believes will show improvement with collections and follow-ups on their bad debt collections.

Paugh and Jim Lambert, Chief Executive Officer, met with members of Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic (TOC) to discuss opening orthopedic office hours in Bainbridge five days a week to improve patient access. The hospital board went live with Meditech Expanse Service on July 1 with 2% of the implementation going live. Also, the DNV visited for the annual survey on July 23-24, a few weeks after Meditech went live.
