On August 26, Bainbridge High School FFA members showcased their floral design skills at the State Floral Design Clinic held at Camp John Hope in Fort Valley. Victoria Harrel, FFA Advisor, helped students practice their flower arrangements for the upcoming CDE. Students were given scenarios where they designed a body flower or a non-floral flower arrangement based on the customer or client’s needs. Students must memorize 128 flowers and the greenery must be identified when making the arrangements in the contest. Students have practice twice a week at Bainbridge High School and multiple “mini-clinics” throughout the semester. Bailee Brock, Jacee Brock, Mary Margaret Beckham, and Addi Temples are the candidates for the floral competition, but only one can compete in the contest. The competition is November 12, so there’s still time for the candidates to practice for the upcoming event.
