This past Saturday morning, author Alicia Hurtt held a book signing at Nightfall Books. Alicia Hurtt is a children and young adult book author, who has 25 books published. Hurtt writes stories about family bonds and values, patience, the importance of trust, the power of perseverance, and faith and resilience.

Hurtt is a realtor by profession, so her first book “The Real Estate Journey Overcoming Obstacles: A Guide to Overcoming Obstacles of the Home Buying Process”, was a personal story about Hurtt losing her home, and navigating that process.

Her second book, called “I See My Baby”, details her miscarriage, infertility, lack of faith, and depression. After her second book, she took to writing poetry.

Hurtt stated, “It’s just therapeutic to me, and because with my mom transitioning, being her caregiver, I turned them into children’s books. So like the first book, “Seasons are Changing”, it actually was me thinking through my mom’s transitions, but then I wrote it in a playful way for children.”

In addition to Hurtt’s success as an author, she founded the non-profit women’s wellness center called “I See My Baby”.  To learn more about Hurtt’s non-profit, visit https://iseemybaby.org/.
