Mary Lillian Whiddon was born December 17, 1943, in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Ray & Alpha Hull Whiddon. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1961. Lillian served her community through the local Department of Family & Children Services office for more than twenty years. She enjoyed retired life with her husband of over thirty years, Luther Swicord. Lillian was a member of Attapulgus Methodist Church.

Lillian was a kind soul speaking gentle words straight to the hearts of those she loved. Family was always a priority and for them, she was the perfect mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. The best times included gathering, cooking, and eating. She loved a fish fry especially when those from far and near came “home”. The beach was a favorite destination; Lillian made sure to have a van large enough to haul everyone…regardless of the head count or the vacation location. She did set some strict rules: wear socks and keep your head covered. Her legacy of unconditional love was rooted in the desire to never speak ill or talk down to anyone. She believed everyone had something to contribute and always deserved a chance.

Survivors include her children, Teresa Lambert McMillan (Greg) and Jay Lambert (Mikki) all of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Garrett & Melody, Tate, Dillon & Presley, and Sara & Austin; her great-grandchildren, Collins, Finn, Charlee, and Eli; and her brother and sisters-in-law, JB & Saralyn Swicord and Jean Whiddon. In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Luther W. Swicord, and her brother, Ronnie Whiddon.
