On September 30, Grace Christian Academy began collection donations of supplies to aid survivors of Hurricane Helene. GCA collected non-perishable food and snacks, water & electrolyte drinks, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, baby wipes and diapers, cleaning supplies, and other necessities. By October 2, they had collected a sizeable amount. One GCA parent loaned his trailer to the school so they could deliver the collected items to Georgia Christian Academy and Highland Christian Academy. Carla Chastain, owner of Dixie Dandy, Jason Lee, and other parents helped with the effort by offering help to other schools. Sean Johnson, GCA Head of School, stated, “While these schools are our competitors on the court and the field, they are part of the GISA family and ultimately our neighbors. When we see a neighborhood in need, we are called to love on them in their time of need.”
