Mr. Grady Scott Connell, age 84, passed away October 4, 2024.  Services for Mr. Connell will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 8, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home, Bainbridge, Georgia.  Bro. Mike Bowman, Rev. Ron Kirkland, and Rev. Lynn Massey will officiate.  Interment will follow in Oak City Cemetery.  Nathan Dodd, Marvin Walters, Thomas McGatha, Caden McGatha, Ricky Giles, and Mike Andrews will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Bowman, Alan King, Deese Connell, Glenn King, Bill Meredith, Mark Conner, Stuart Kelley, Chris Kelley, and Brad Kelley.

Mr. Grady Scott Connell is survived by his wife of 14 years, Martha (Giles) Connell; his children, Alecia McGatha (Harley), Randy Connell (Sarah), Debbie Bowman (Mike), Angie Meisenheimer (Marvin Walters); his step-children, Ricky Giles (Brenda), Sharon Pierce (Dave), and several grandchildren; step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother, Deese Connell, and several nieces and nephews.  Scott was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Alice Eloise (King) Connell; his parents, Grady and Rucia Connell; his brothers, James Connell and Jack Connell; his sons-in-law, T. Harley McGatha, Sr. and William Meisenheimer; and his step-son-in-law, Dave Pierce.

Scott lived his life as a Christian husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He loved his family more than anything and devoted his heart to them and his life in service to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He was a long time Gideon and founding member of the Christian Faith Church of Bainbridge, Georgia.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who appreciated the beauty of the rural areas of Bainbridge, Georgia and Centre, Alabama.  Both, he proudly called home.  He had a long career as a Sears Authorized Merchant and as a rural farm inspector with the USDA.

Scott will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  But, we are comforted by the knowledge that he is home now, home with our Heavenly Father and his loved ones.
