Decatur County commissioners approve machinery bids, board appointment

The Decatur County Commissioners met on Tuesday morning for their first meeting of the month. Following the invocation and Pledge of Allegiance, the commissioners approved the meeting agenda and their prior meeting minutes.
The first item of new business on the agenda was a tractor bid for public works. According to County Administrator Alan Thomas, Ag Pro was the bid winner, with the bid price being $70,243.89. The commissioners voted to approve the bid.
Next, the commissioners heard of a mower bid for public works. Ag Pro was also the successful bidder, with the mower price being $21,500. The commissioners approved.
After this, the commissioners considered approval of a proclamation for Retired Educators Day, which was approved.
The last business item was a board appointment to the Board of Assessors, that being Gloria Freeman, who currently serves on the board. The commissioners approved the appointment.
Following this, the commissioners delivered their closing remarks, and the meeting was adjourned.
