The GCA Lady Cougars Volleyball team started off strong in the Georgia Independent Athletic Association Volleyball championship on Tuesday, trouncing Georgia Christian 3-0 in the semi-finals. This was a continuation of the team’s strong performance this season, defeating LaGrange Academy 3-0 this past Saturday as well.
“The team has done a very good job executing on offense and making smart plays when needed,” said Coach Kelsey Raley. “When we play in system, it’s hard for teams to compete with our offense.”
While the final game had yet to be played, Raley commended the girl’s performance in the semi-final. “The team showed up to take care of business in the semi-final game. If we continue to play as hard as we have today, it will be hard for another team to compete with us.”
Unfortunately, the Cougars would ultimately fall to the Heritage Hawks in the final, 3-0. Still, the Lady Cougars ended a strong season as the state runner-up.
