Wednesday evening, Fellowship of Christian Athletes held a Fields of Faith event at the Centennial Field.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a student-led worship club. Guests, students from different schools, and pastors from Southwest Baptist Church, Grace Baptist Church, Church of God and many more facilities gathered. Before the event started, Andrew Donaldson, Youth Pastor at First Baptist, talked with a group of guests about the event. Donaldson stated that he placed QR codes around the gate entry for students to scan. Once scanned, the QR code explains information about Christianity. If students have questions, an adult will contact them from the organization. “Students that aren’t Christians or have questions about faith or per request can scan the QR code and one of our adults will follow-up with them and pray for them or answer any questions they have about following Jesus.” Donaldson stated.
The event started with a prayer and a live music event by the Grace Christian Academy. Afterwards, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes spoke about faith and worshiping Jesus.
Afterwards, there was a speaker panel for GCA senior athletes Sara Kate Crews and Owen Earnest who were joined by Bainbridge High School seniors. Mandy Johnson, Upper School Director of Curriculum and Instruction, asked the students questions about their faith and how it guides them through school and their daily lives. Students spoke about their personal relationship with God, their sins, and building their faith. Two Bainbridge High Schoolers spoke about the consequences of sin and encouragement of faith. The event ended with a prayer.
