Bainbridge FFA members recently traveled to the Georgia National Fair in Perry, Georgia where Mary Margaret Beckham, Bailee Brock, Jacee Brock and Addison Temples competed in the Floral Design Contest. Over 30 students competed in this event held during the FFA Day at the Fair on October 8th, 2024. Mary Margaret Beckham, Bailee Brock and Addison Temples were given 30 minutes to prepare a floral design that fit the fair theme “Totally Retro 80’s.” Students’ arrangements were required to stay within a $25 to $50 total budget which students proved by submitting a price list of items based on industry wholesale costs. Students used concepts of floral design such as balance, line, rhythm, and color, to be successful in this event. Mary Margaret Beckham was 2nd overall in the Senior Division with her disco ball themed piece, Bailee Brock was 6th overall in the Senior Division with her Rubik’s cube themed piece. Addison Temples won the Junior Division with her roller skate themed piece.
Jacee Brock competed in the division where students made their arrangements ahead of time on theme with “Totally Retro 80’s”. Jacee used elements of balance, line, rhythm and color to construct her design She placed 2nd overall in the Senior Division with her record album themed piece.
These students were trained by Dr. Tracy Champagne FFA Advisor at Bainbridge High School.
