Thanksgiving Sweet Potato Pie

Thanksgiving is almost here, and many people are scrambling to find the right ingredients to make a perfect Thanksgiving feast. After the turkey is in the oven, and the cranberry sauce is prepared, it’s time to make a dessert. If you don’t want to make anything complicated, try making a sweet potato pie with a few ingredients. It’s fast, easy, and a delicious Southern classic for Thanksgiving.

Ingredients

•1 sweet potato, fresh from produce.

•½ cup of soft unsalted Butter

•1 cup of white sugar

•2 large eggs

•½ cup of Milk

•½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

•½ teaspoon cinnamon

•1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

•3 tablespoons of All Purpose Flour

•1 deep dished unbaked pie crust

Directions

•Boil or bake the sweet potato until tender. If baked, rub olive oil on the sweet potato and place it on a cookie sheet.

•Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (175 degrees C). Once cooled, remove skin from potato and discard it. Next, break the potato apart and place into a bowl. Add butter and use an electric mixer to combine the ingredients.

•Add the sugar, milk, eggs, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and blend with an electric mixer.

•Gradually add the All Purpose Flour and place the mixture inside the pie crust.

•Bake in the oven for 55 minutes until the crust is brown and the mixture is solid.

•Top with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or pecans, and enjoy.
