On November 26, Memorial Hospital and Manor held a meeting at 8:00 AM to discuss the December meeting, and the search for the new CEO.
The meeting had two items on the agenda which detailed narrowing the new CEO search down to one finalist, with the board members approving the motion to go with LaDon Toole, CEO at Dodge County Medical Center in Eastman, Georgia. Melissa Davis, Executive Administrative Assistant, stated, “The Hospital Authority is pleased to announce that LaDon Toole has been selected as the sole candidate for the position of CEO at Memorial Hospital and Manor. He has accepted the board’s offer and will be working to finalize an employment contract over the next couple of weeks. We look forward to working with LaDon, and we are confident that his leadership and healthcare expertise will be perfectly aligned with our goals and objectives at Memorial.”
Toole is a returning Bainbridge resident who has 26 years of experience working in the healthcare industry. Toole has extensive experience and education as the new CEO. “I am excited to return to Bainbridge not only because it is home, but the growth and development of the town is beyond impressive,” he stated. Toole continued, “My 26 years in healthcare alongside my servant leadership style has given me the knowledge to sustain growth in the ever-changing world of healthcare through opening new service lines, renovating multiple hospitals, and maintaining fiscal responsibility. Bainbridge is home, making the success of the hospital and the community that much sweeter.”
Toole’s start date is still pending due to his contract being finalized, but he stated that he’s looking “forward to engaging and forming relationships with employees, board members, and the community to form a team approach for healthcare in Decatur County. It is very important to me that staff members and members of the community feel that their input is received and always considered. My goal is to focus on growth and development at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital and Manor, making the hospital not only the best healthcare provider in the region but the chosen healthcare provider.”
The other item on the agenda was the December meeting. The board approved the motion to skip the December meeting due to it falling very close to Christmas. Afterwards, the meeting was adjourned.
