Betty Meaders, age 71, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 4, 2025, at her Host Home in Bainbridge. A farewell service will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at the Cox-Ivey Funeral Home in Bainbridge, Pastor Lester Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 at the funeral home with the service at 11:00. After the service all attending are invited for a meal at Ricky’s Steak & Buffet Restaurant. Betty will be interred later alongside her parents in Cleveland, Georgia.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Lambert and Frances Meaders and sister Carol Shields. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Joan and Phil Golden, numerous nieces and nephews and her loving in-home care giver for fifteen years, Ms. Betty Biggles. Betty was challenged throughout her life with mental and physical disabilities. Still, in spite of the obstacles she always had smile, loved people and loved to laugh. She spent several years participating in the programs at the Seminole County Development Center. She made a decision to follow Christ some ten years ago, was baptized to demonstrate her faith and was an active member of the New Freedom Church in Bainbridge.

The family expresses their utmost appreciation of all the many who have stood by and stood up for Betty. The family also asks that anyone wishing to make a donation in Betty’s memory, to do so to their favorite charity.
