Bainbridge Wrestling Program sends three qualifers to State Tournament in Macon, Georgia this week

The Bainbridge Bearcats wrestling program participated in the individual sectional tournament at Houston County and Gainesville High this weekend and succeeded with three state qualifiers.
Saniya Brown scored 16.0 team points at Houston County finishing second and qualified for state as a top-eight finisher in Section A.
The Bearcats had two state qualifiers out of GHSA Class 3A Section B, Alex DeLeon who placed seventh and scored 7.0 team points in the 106-pound division, and LeTuan Howard who placed fifth and scored 13.0 team points in the 132-pound division.
Coach Jacob Floyd and company had five state alternates, all of whom placed ninth at Gainesville High this weekend. Roderick Smith competed in the 113-pound division, Izavious Scott battled in the 126-pound division, George Smith in the 165-pound division, Bryce Burke contended in the 175-pound division, and Ethyn Castro rivaled in the 215-pound division.
The boys’ and girls’ individual state wrestling tournament in Macon, Georgia will be the main event of a major wrestling weekend, beginning on Thursday and concluding on Saturday.
