In a generous show of support, Cooper’s Plumbing and Air has donated $$55,000 to Memorial Hospital and Manor through the Georgia HEART Hospital Program, a vital initiative strengthening healthcare in rural Georgia.

The Georgia HEART (Helping Enhance Access to Rural Treatment) Hospital Program manages the state’s Rural Hospital Tax Credit, which allows individuals and businesses to redirect their Georgia income tax liability to support eligible rural hospitals.

“We thank Cooper’s Plumbing and Air for their continued support of Memorial Hospital and Manor through the Georgia Heart program,” Dave Paugh, CFO/Interim CEO said. “Their willingness to partner with MHM, along with other businesses and individuals, allows us to continue our mission of providing quality health care services to Decatur County.”

“Supporting Memorial Hospital and Manor through the Georgia Heart Program is truly a pleasure. It helps keep our local hospital strong while ensuring that our tax dollars stay right here in Decatur County. We’re proud to contribute and invest in the health of our community,” said Tony Cooper, of Cooper’s Plumbing & Air.

The HEART program allows Georgia taxpayers to make contributions in exchange for a 100% state income tax credit, within established limits, to the qualified rural hospitals of their choice. C Corporations and pass-through business owners may also be eligible for an additional federal business expense deduction.
