The Bainbridge High basketball cheerleaders explored Spelman College and The King Center in Atlanta, Georgia, to celebrate Black History Month and left with an enriching and empowering experience. After a much-needed lunch at Lenox Square Mall, the BHS basketball cheerleaders traveled to Peach County to cheer on the Bearcats.
The adventure continued this past week. On Valentine’s Day morning, the BHS cheer team hopped on a charter bus and headed to Orlando, Florida, for an unforgettable Universal Studios Islands of Adventure excursion.
“Stay curious,” said American author Neale Donald Walsch. “Explore fearlessly, and keep your mind open—life’s best adventures begin where comfort zones end.” Coach Kimberly Barthel credited this quote to the week’s adventure for the cheer team, emphasizing the importance of embracing new changes.
Barthel expressed her heartfelt thanks to the cheer booster officers for their dedication, the parents for their trust, Sergeant Marvin Knight, for keeping everyone safe, Coach Arial for navigating swiftly on the road to and from Atlanta, Mike of Mike’s Limousine for a comfortable ride, Wawa store manager, Penny, and Jarvis at Golden Corral for their warm hospitality.
This remarkable adventure marked a historic milestone for BHS Basketball Cheer as the first trip of such kind.
