The Firehouse Arts Center hosted a heartwarming Daddy-Daughter Dance last Friday and Saturday evenings.

Chelsea Kornse, the Firehouse Arts Center Administrative Director, organized a special night for fathers and their daughters to create lasting memories. Fathers arrived dressed in tuxedos, while daughters wore miniature ballroom gowns. Some fathers even brought bouquets and corsages for their daughters. Kornse expressed her love for providing a moment for dads to give their children a special night, show them how much they are loved, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Joseph Kelly played various songs by artists, including Taylor Swift, “Let It Go”, “Cotton Eye Joe,” and Rascal Flatts’ “My Wish.” Kornse explained the planning that goes into the event, from choosing the theme to providing food that kids love. This year’s theme was “Twinkle in My Eye,” featuring simple decorations with balloons, stars, and lights. The event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the Board of Directors and community volunteers.

The event was fun and merriment for all, especially for Kornse, as it was her first time hosting the dance. She stated, “This year was my first time attending, but I’ll never get over how much fun the girls had on the dance floor. They truly had all the moves, and I will hear the sound of balloons popping for the foreseeable future,” Kornse continued. “The event was sold out for Friday and Saturday, making it a huge success. Fathers and daughters are left with happy hearts and new core memories, and that’s all you can ask for when organizing an event like this. We can’t wait for the next one.”
