BHS students explore and connect at career fair

Last Wednesday, the CTAE and Guidance Counselors held a Career Fair at Bainbridge High School (BHS).
A Career Fair connects employers and job seekers, providing opportunities to discuss potential jobs and internships, network, and learn about various industries and companies. At BHS, Career Fairs are hosted each semester on October 15th and March 5th. Organizing the fair involves sending registration forms to industry partners and collaborating with the Chamber of Commerce at least one to two months in advance.
This semester’s Career Fair featured the following organizations: A-1 Industries, A-West Electrical, ABAC Business/Entrepreneurship, ABAC Enrollment Counselor, Bank OZK, Cooper Heating and Air, Decatur County Board of Education, Decatur County Fire and Rescue, First National Bank, Five Star Credit Union, Florida State Hospital, Georgia Forestry Commission, JCI Contractors, Memorial Hospital and Manor, Metro Power, MetroPower, Inc., Miller County Hospital Authority, New Hire Solutions, Primary Care of Southwest GA, Decatur County Sheriff’s Department, Southwest Georgia Farm Credit
SRTC (Southern Regional Technical College): Admissions, Auto Collision Repair, Auto Mechanic, Business Management, Business Technology, CDL (Commercial Truck Driving), Computer Information Systems, Cosmetology, Drafting, Electrical Technician, Healthcare Technology, HVAC, Machine Manufacturing, Medical Assisting, Medical Coding, Paramedicine, UGA Articulation Transfer Program, Radiology, Veterinarian, Wildlife, Steward Machine Company, Tulsa Welding School, United States Air Force, United States Army, United States Army National Guard, United States Marine Corps, and Walmart
Industries began setting up at 7:00 AM. Bearcat Workforce Now students went first, followed by the remaining seniors and juniors, then the New Beginning Learning Center students.
Over 600 students attended the fair, gaining valuable insights into local industries and college options. Scott Morehouse, CTAE Director at BHS, remarked, “The event was a huge success. I want to thank all the industry partners who attended our career fair. I truly appreciate their support and the opportunities they provided for our students.” He continued, “It is through their willingness to participate and provide information that these events achieve their success.”
