Members of city and county law enforcement and emergency services gathered at Bryant Funeral Home on Tuesday morning for a group meeting. The meeting was led by Dana Bryant, who spoke to those in attendance about Vital ICE, a free in-case-of-emergency application sponsored in part by Bryant Funeral Home.

The application contains multiple features, including a database of the user’s medical information, designed to be easily accessible by first responders, as well as dependant information; an audible alarm to aid first responders in locating a person during an emergency; access to push notifications from participating EMS services; the ability to backup and restore data from the user’s Dropbox account; and a custom wallpaper/lock screen overlay that displays vital health information for first responders, in the event of an emergency.

“I’ve had many occasions where I’ve been with somebody that I had to say, ‘Hey, who can I call, because I don’t know what medication you’re on. You’re sick, you can’t tell me,’” Bryant said during her presentation.

Bryant took questions from the first responders in attendance, including questions regarding the risks to info should a phone be stolen, as well as the app’s compatibility with smart watches.

For those interested in downloading the app, it can be downloaded from both the Apple App Store, and Google Play Store. A code is necessary to access the app; Bryant Funeral Home has paid for and provided the code 2785.
