Saturday evening, the Old Post Office at 100 S. West Street hosted its second annual St. Patrick’s Day Party from 5:00 PM to 11:00PM. This festive occasion honors the patron saint of Ireland, credited with bringing Christianity to the country in the 5th century, while celebrating Irish culture and heritage.

Christy McCoy, Manager and Event Coordinator, shared her excitement about the event. “St. Patrick’s Day is a great way to celebrate with friends and community. It’s a fun, silly day, and these are the days most needed in the community,” she said.

The main party area featured St. Patrick’s Day-themed cocktails, festive photo opportunities, and Irish music, creating a lively atmosphere. Decorations were inspired by the venue’s past events and other cities’ festivities. Meanwhile, the downstairs Speakeasy bar offered a retro-style, intimate vibe, complete with two bartenders serving specialty drinks like Rainbow Ritas, Emerald Crush, Tipsy Leprechaun, Irish Iced Tea, and Shamrock Shooters.

John Noel, the owner, traveled from Atlanta to join in the celebration and share historic tales about the Speakeasy bar. Designed to evoke the hidden and illegal establishments of the Prohibition era, the bar has become a beloved space for patrons. Noel remarked, “When we first opened, everyone was excited for a new space, but now we see even more interest and love for the venue. I expect this year’s turnout to double compared to last year. The decorations and vibes are even better—it’s going to be a great night.”
