Saturday night, Bainbridge High School (BHS) students arrived dressed to impress in elegant gowns and sharp tuxedos, ready to celebrate Prom at the BHS Gymnasium. The event began with students lining up for the Promenade, showcasing juniors, seniors and their dates. The evening’s theme, “Masquerade,” added an air of mystery and enchantment, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

The event’s success was made possible through the collaborative efforts of teachers and students. Bailey Varnum, BHS Football Cheer Coach; Amy Walls, Special Education teacher at BHS; and Greg Harrell’s class played pivotal roles in setting up the venue. Additionally, Christy McCoy, Manager and Event Coordinator at the Old Post Office, lent her expertise to help decorate the gym, ensuring it perfectly captured the magical masquerade theme.

Students played a key role in shaping the event by contributing their ideas through surveys and discussions, ensuring their interests aligned with the theme. Teachers offered invaluable support and supervision, working behind the scenes to ensure the event ran smoothly. Varnum emphasized the collaborative spirit of the occasion, stating, “Teachers and students work together to create a memorable and enjoyable experience for students. This includes having a beautifully decorated venue that fits the theme, great music and entertainment, seamless event coordination, and ensuring students feel safe and included.”
