In the singles category, No. 1 seed Owen Earnest solidified his status as one of the region’s most formidable players by becoming a back-to-back Boys Singles Region Champion. Earnest’s precision and strategic prowess left opponents scrambling. He won his first four sets to make the championship match, 24-1.
His steady forehand and tactical shot placement carried him through each match, ultimately earning him his second championship title in as many years. Winning (6-3, 6-2) over Lanier, who entered the boys’ singles region tournament as the No. 2 seed, proved why he was regarded as one of the top contenders.
