The Bainbridge High School (BHS) Concert Band is set to collaborate with the Valdosta State University (VSU) Concert Band for a remarkable joint concert on April 30th at the prestigious Valdosta State University Performing Arts Center.

This exciting event resulted from a partnership forged between Mr. Will Parker, Associate Band Director at Bainbridge High School, and Dr. Patrick Forrester, Director of Athletic Bands and the VSU Concert Band.

In this unique opportunity, the BHS Concert Band will travel to VSU to perform their set, followed by the chance to enjoy a performance by the VSU Concert Band. This concert serves as a platform to highlight our talented band students’ dedication and hard work. It provides an enriching experience for them as they step onto a college campus. Students will have the invaluable opportunity to interact with college musicians and gain insight into potential pathways for their futures, including scholarship opportunities that may await them in higher education.

Mr. Parker is grateful to several key individuals who have supported this initiative. He extends heartfelt thanks to Mr. James Sewell, Director of Bands at BHS, for his unwavering support and to Mr. Christopher Bryant, Principal, and the entire faculty and staff at Bainbridge High School. Additionally, he acknowledges Superintendent Dr. Boyd English for his steadfast commitment to the Decatur County Band Program. Most importantly, Mr. Parker commends all of the band students for their relentless effort and dedication in preparing for what promises to be a spectacular performance.
