Bainbridge Middle School is filled with pride as it celebrates the achievements of Joseph Farmer and Serenity Rivera, the 2025 Athletes of the Year. These two standout Bearcats have demonstrated unwavering excellence, persistence, and respect throughout the season, living up to the highest standards of The Bearcat Way

A two-sport athlete in tennis and softball, Rivera—daughter of Courtney and Tyler Pollock—excels both on the field and in the classroom, where she upholds a stellar 4.0 GPA. Farmer, son of Erica and Patrick Farmer, takes on Basscats fishing, soccer, and cross-country with equivalent devotion, matching Rivera’s academic achievement with his own 4.0 GPA.

Bainbridge Middle School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Chad Smith shared his thoughts on these exceptional athletes, saying, “I’ve had the privilege of working with both for the past three years as their Assistant Principal and Athletic Director from the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade,” he said. “They are as high-character as middle school students come. It’s been a pleasure watching them grow as athletes and students, getting to know them along the way.”
