In March, Southern Philosophy Brewery unveiled two significant additions to its brewing process: a Horizontal lagging tank and a Canning Line System.
Horizontal lagering tanks play a crucial role in beer production, serving as storage and preservation units at the final fermentation stage. These tanks maintain optimal temperatures for beer while enhancing clarity and smoothness by promoting efficient yeast and particle settling. This process helps preserve the beer’s authentic flavors and aromas without excessive filtration. Southern Philosophy Brewery owner Dempsey Gallagher highlighted the benefits of the new tank, stating, “It increases our capacity to make more beer.”
Additionally, the introduction of the Canning Line System has provided the brewery with several advantages. The automated system enhances efficiency, lowers labor costs, improves quality control, and offers greater flexibility in packaging. Unlike traditional bottling lines, automated canning lines can handle larger volumes while requiring fewer operators, making them a valuable asset to the brewery’s expansion.
Southern Philosophy Brewery’s investment in these cutting-edge systems marks a new chapter in its commitment to quality and efficiency. By expanding its production capabilities and optimizing packaging, the brewery is better equipped to meet growing demand while ensuring every can of beer maintains the exceptional standards its customers have come to expect.
