Sonya Patricia (Patty) Chason Hester, age 63, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida.  Services for Mrs. Hester will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Climax Methodist Church, 210 W. Broad Street, Climax, Georgia.  The Rev. Lynn Hurley will officiate.  Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.  Doug Chason, Will Chason, Michael Craig, Dustin Cornog, Dallas Helms, and Tyler Andrews will serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, July 30, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home.

Sonya Patricia (Patty) Chason was born November 9, 1961, in Jacksonville, Florida, to William Owen Chason and Annette Nix Chason.  Patty was raised in Whigham, Georgia, graduating from Whigham High School.  She attended Bainbridge Jr. College.  In 1979, she married the love of her life, Alford Earl Hester, III.  Patty and Al shared 47 years together.  She worked in retail and then at Memorial Hospital and Manor.  She was a great secretary and ended her working career at Climax Peanut Enterprises.  She was a loving, caring mother of two, Allen and Brandie.  Patty had a heart of gold.  She always put others first.  She never thought of anyone as a stranger and had a smile like the sun.  She loved her pets and working in her flowers.  Patty will be dearly missed by her dear family and many friends.

Patty Hester is survived by her husband, Al Hester; children, Allen Hester and Brandie Hester (Eric); grandchildren, Joshua Hester, Mary Ann Hester, and Nichole Hester; siblings, Ben Chason, Randy Chason, Kim Craig (Mike), and Robert Chason; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Hester; brother and sister-in-law, Wendell Hester and Jill Hester Clark (Phillip); and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bill Chason, and father-in-law, A. E. Hester, Jr.
