On Thursday evening, many people enjoyed the Climax Community Club’s 22nd Annual Ham and Egg Supper, which raised money for upkeep of the Cedar Grove Cemetery off State Route 262. Patrons could come and eat at the Swine Time “Chittlin’ Barn,” or just drive through and pick up their plates. The supper consisted of a choice between ham or sausage, along with made-from-scratch biscuits, grits and scrambled eggs. To feed the many hungry people, the supper’s volunteer cooks had to use about 210 dozen eggs, 70 pounds of grits, 600 pounds of ham and 150 pounds of sausage.
