Millie Trulock

Graveside services for Millie Trulock, 91, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville with the Rev. John Carr and Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating.

Mrs. Trulock was born Sept. 23, 1919, in Donalsonville, and died Feb. 6, 2011, at Courtyard Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Marianna, Fla.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She worked for Crosby Marine, was administrator of the Donalsonville Hospital and worked for the Chamber of Commerce. She was named Woman of the Year in 1980, an active member of the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association and was past president of the Georgia Hospital Association. She was very active in her community, church and loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack S. and Martha Martin Ward; her husband, Elbert Powell Trulock; two brothers, Jackson P. Ward and Herbert Ward; three sisters, Lillie Mae W. Carr, Elva W. O’Neal and Clyde W. Bennett.

She is survived by two sons, Bert Trulock of St. Louis, Mo., and Ward Trulock of Donalsonville; one sister, Ouida W. Baird of Albany, Ga.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
