Taylor Greene and Hema Hosana have won 14-year-old and under girls and boys Bainbridge Junior Tennis Tournament championships.

The tournament was held Sept. 12 and 13 at Bill Reynolds Sports Park Tennis Center.

In announcing the championship winners, city of Bainbridge tennis Director Tim Thompson said Greene is able to play in a higher division even though she is only 11.

She beat Anna Walter of Thomasville in a close two-set match 6-3, 6-4 in the finals.

Thompson said Hosana, who dropped only one set throughout the tournament, had to battle weather issues.

“Hema was able to stay mentally tough during several rain delays and other questionable weather issues,” Thompson said.

“We are proud of all our Bainbridge tennis players, and the quality of play they bring each time to the courts.”
