Bainbridge College (BC) welcomed Augusta-area resident Gordon Prettelt to the college community this semester.
The University System of Georgia (USG) veteran administrator serves as interim vice president of business affairs.
Vice President Prettelt, a native of Gonzales, La., and resident of Evans in the Augusta area, brings to Bainbridge College an extensive background in accounting, business, financial matters, and data systems, said BC President Tom Wilkerson.
Prettelt served as vice president for business affairs at East Georgia College, as comptroller at Augusta State University and at the Medical College of Georgia, and as a consultant this year for the USG Board of Regents to assist its institutions with the myriad of changes that accompanied a new electronic financial operating system.
He has also worked with Central Savannah River Area Economic Opportunity Authority and for Louisiana State University, from which he earned his master’s of public administration and his bachelor’s of science degrees.
Prettelt assumed his duties Sept. 2. He succeeds Natalie Higley, who accepted an appointment as assistant director and chief business officer at Skidaway Island Oceanographic Institute’s Savannah headquarters.
