Emma Cox White, 85, of Bainbridge, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at Bainbridge Healthcare.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at West Street Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill McCamon officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, with Donnie Hall, Ronald Cox, Eddie Cox, Billy Cox, Andrew Avery and Bobby Donley serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, at Ivey Funeral Home.

Mrs. White was born March 22, 1927, in Bascom, Fla., the daughter of Charles Whitman Cox and Ola Avery Cox. She graduated from Malone High School in Malone, Fla., and attended business school. Mrs. White retired as a legal secretary for the Kirbo Law Firm and was a charter member of West Street Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. White; her five brothers; her two sisters; and her granddaughter, Tracie White.

Survivors include her sons, Kenneth White and his wife, Janie, of Eufaula, Ala., and Charles White, of Bainbridge; her daughters, Kay White, of Thomasville, Ga., and Susan Bailey, of Bainbridge; her brother, Alfred Cox and his wife, Sharon, of Bascom; her sister, Ruby Lee Anderson, of Cypress, Fla.; her sister-in-law, Pearl Cox, of Bascom; her four grandchildren, Cara Jones, Alicia Nichols, Adrian Bailey and Brian White; and her seven great-grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
