Coach Lisa Enfinger’s Bainbridge High School and Bainbridge Middle School Bearcats and Lady Cats cross-country teams turned in strong efforts at last Saturday’s Quail Trail Run at Thomasville’s Pebble Brook Plantation.

The Bearcats, who finished third in a 20-team field, were led by Chase Harris, who was second overall, completing the 5,000-meter (3.1-mile) course in a time of 17:22.65.
The run’s boys champion was Travis Covert of Maclay (Fla.), who edged out Harris with a time of 17:09.18.

The Lady Cats, who finished eighth overall in the 20-team field, were led by sisters Paige and Amber Braswell, who were fifth and seventh overall in times of 21:53.18 and 22:11.08. The girls championship was won by Alison Peters of Lowndes County, with a time of 20:25.34.

Bainbridge’s Carson Inlow finished seventh overall in the two-mile boys middle-school run and Madison Wiggins was the top Lady Cats finisher in the two-mile girls middle-school run.

Bearcats finishing behind Harris in the boys 5,000-meter run included Bennett Enfinger, who was 13th in a time of 18:54.14, Brad Cox, who was 20th in a time of 19:20.14, Brian McMillan, who was 27th in a time of 19:57.96, Brenden Greene, who was 29th in a time of 20:05.18 and Perry Waddell, who was 39th in a time of 20:22.08.

Lady Cats finishing behind the Braswell sisters in the girls 5,000-meter run were Caitlin Cato, who was 43rd in a time of 25:35.52, and Rebecca Conner, who was 62nd in a time of 26:48.55.
