Soup kitchen back in business

Patricia Anderson, who has donated her time and efforts to provide free dinners at the Somebody Cares Soup Kitchen, has informed The Post Searchlight that she has found a new location with a kitchen that is approved by the Decatur County Health Department.
Beginning Thursday, Oct. 18, from 5 to 6 p.m., anyone can come to the Phisbone Seafood Restaurant, located on Alice Street behind Sammy’s Bait and Tackle, and get fed. As before, the meals are intended for carry-out, but there is limited seating for those who need to eat on the premises.
Anderson is quite excited that Cathy and Jamie McCanelly, owners of Phisbone Seafood, have volunteered their kitchen on Thursdays, when their restaurant is closed, to be used for the soup kitchen. She said she had several calls from people offering help, including providing transportation to carry meals to shut-ins, or bringing people to the soup kitchen.
